Can a medical assistant give injections in Louisiana?
Oversight · part of The Practice Perimeter
Short answer
The cited rules do not settle this — there is no medical assistant scope provision; they establish only that practicing medicine without a license is barred and that a physician who knowingly helps an unlicensed person practice medicine faces discipline.
Knowingly performing any act which, in any way, assists an unlicensed person to practice medicine, or having professional connection with or lending one's name to an illegal practitioner, is a cause for which the board may refuse to issue, or may suspend or revoke any license or permit.

← All Louisiana rules and changes · MedSpaRadar is regulatory monitoring and reference: it summarizes public laws, regulations and agency actions and links each to its source. It is not legal, medical, or compliance advice, and using it creates no attorney-client relationship. A summary can lag its source or leave out detail, and monitoring itself can be interrupted — so an absence of alerts means nothing reached you, not that nothing happened.
