Advertising rules in Connecticut

Connecticut regulates medical spa advertising directly: any advertisement by the spa must carry the information identifying the physician, physician assistant, advanced practice registered nurse or registered nurse who performs cosmetic medical procedures — or state that the information may be found on the spa’s Internet web site and list that address.

  • The information identifying the physician, physician assistant, advanced practice registered nurse or registered nurse performing cosmetic medical procedures shall be contained in any advertisement by the medical spa or state that such information may be found on the medical spa’s Internet web site and list the address for such Internet web site.

  • Whenever the Commissioner of Consumer Protection has reason to believe that any person has been or is engaged in a violation of the Unfair Trade Practices Act, the commissioner may proceed administratively or may request the Attorney General to apply in the name of the state to the Superior Court for an order temporarily or permanently restraining and enjoining the continuance of the act or acts, or for an order directing restitution and the appointment of a receiver.
